Psalm 32:3-4 (David) – When I kept silent about my sin, my body wasted away Through my groaning all day long. For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me; My vitality was drained away as with the fever heat of summer.

Psalm 33:13,15 – The LORD looks down from heaven; he sees all the children of man… he who fashions the hearts of them all and observes all their deeds. Jeremiah 23:24 – Can a man hide himself in secret places so that I cannot see him? declares the LORD. Do I not fill heaven and earth? declares the LORD. Hebrews 4:13 – And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

1.Grieving my Lord; displeasing the One whose opinion most matters. 2.Forcing God to discipline me in various ways. 3.Following in the footsteps of men I know of whose immorality forfeited their ministry. List of these names: 4.Untold hurt to Nanci, my best friend and loyal wife. 5.Hurt to and loss of credibility with my beloved daughters, Karina and Angela. 6.Shame to my family. (“Why isn’t Daddy a pastor anymore?”; the cruel comments of others.) 7.Shame to my church family, my friends, and especially those I’ve led to Christ List of names: 8.Plaguing memories … that could taint future intimacy with my wife. 9.Forfeiting forever certain opportunities to serve God. 10.Bringing great pleasure to Satan, the Enemy of God. 11.Heaping judgment and problems on the person I would have committed adultery with. 12.Possible diseases 13.Possible pregnancy, with its personal and financial implications, including a lifelong reminder of sin to me and my family.
