Truth In A Nutshell Overcoming obstacles and successfully dealing with life’s pressures is part of the strength that God gives to live for him. But, God is not concerned so much with our comfort or convenience as much as He is concerned with our character. Accordingly God allows us to encounter circumstances far beyond our ability to cope that we would learn to completely trust and depend on God. Overcoming obstacles and successfully dealing with life’s pressures is part of the strength that God gives to live for him. But, God is not concerned so much with our comfort or convenience as much as He is concerned with our character. Accordingly God allows us to encounter circumstances far beyond our ability to cope that we would learn to completely trust and depend on God.

1 Samuel 17: Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. 46 This day the LORD will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. 45 Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin.

1 Samuel 17: Then all this assembly shall know that the LORD does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the LORD’s, and He will give you into our hands.” 48 So it was, when the Philistine arose and came and drew near to meet David, that David hurried and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine. 49 Then David put his hand in his bag and took out a stone; and he slung it and struck the Philistine in his forehead, so that the stone sank into his forehead, and he fell on his face to the earth. 50 So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone, and struck the Philistine and killed him. But there was no sword in the hand of David. 47 Then all this assembly shall know that the LORD does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the LORD’s, and He will give you into our hands.” 48 So it was, when the Philistine arose and came and drew near to meet David, that David hurried and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine.

Giant Killers Have Learned The Power Of Praise! Worship is one of the most powerful weapons of warfare Worship is one of the most powerful weapons of warfare David learned the importance of worship in a believer’s heart David learned the importance of worship in a believer’s heart David know that God desired the praise of His people at all times. David know that God desired the praise of His people at all times.

Psalm 34:1 & Psalm 61:8 1 I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth 8 So I will sing praise to Your name forever, That I may daily perform my vows 8 So I will sing praise to Your name forever, That I may daily perform my vows Learn to praise the Lord because of your circumstance. Learn to praise the Lord because of your circumstance.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Powerful warfare is linked to powerful praise! Powerful warfare is linked to powerful praise! The stronger the enemy, the more reverberating the praise becomes. The stronger the enemy, the more reverberating the praise becomes.

Hebrews 11:1-2 1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2 For by it the elders obtained a good testimony. 1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2 For by it the elders obtained a good testimony. Faith celebrates the victory ahead! Faith celebrates the victory ahead!

Giant Killers Pray & Apply the Promises of the Word Faith moves us into the area where we begin to believe the Word of God Faith moves us into the area where we begin to believe the Word of God Faith reinforces the promise for our own lives and situations. Faith believes that God not only answers prayer but in fact is in the middle of answering our prayer right now. Faith reinforces the promise for our own lives and situations. Faith believes that God not only answers prayer but in fact is in the middle of answering our prayer right now.

Hebrews 11:6 6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. 6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. David fought the battle in His mind. The battle was really spiritual not physical. David fought the battle in His mind. The battle was really spiritual not physical.

Point To Ponder To passively sit back and accept whatever happens in our life reduces the Christian soldier to a spiritual baby dominated by life circumstance. To passively sit back and accept whatever happens in our life reduces the Christian soldier to a spiritual baby dominated by life circumstance. Hide the Word in your heart, praise and believe God’s word for your life…it makes all the difference…do not be fatalistic. Your prayer of faith moves the hand of God Hide the Word in your heart, praise and believe God’s word for your life…it makes all the difference…do not be fatalistic. Your prayer of faith moves the hand of God The time to praise is now! The time to praise is now!

Giant Killers Understand Spiritual Warfare With the taunts of Goliath David entered into meditation on the Word and prayer. With the taunts of Goliath David entered into meditation on the Word and prayer. 1 Samuel 17: And when the Philistine looked about and saw David, he disdained him; for he was only a youth, ruddy and good-looking. 43 So the Philistine said to David, “Am I a dog, that you come to me with sticks?” And the Philistine cursed David by his gods. 44 And the Philistine said to David, “Come to me, and I will give your flesh to the birds of the air and the beasts of the field!” 42 And when the Philistine looked about and saw David, he disdained him; for he was only a youth, ruddy and good-looking. 43 So the Philistine said to David, “Am I a dog, that you come to me with sticks?” And the Philistine cursed David by his gods. 44 And the Philistine said to David, “Come to me, and I will give your flesh to the birds of the air and the beasts of the field!”

1 Samuel 17:45 45 Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. 45 Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.

“The natural is merely a manifestation of the spiritual” In the natural, there was no way that David could win In the natural, there was no way that David could win These battles must be won in the spiritual before we can experience the answer in the natural. These battles must be won in the spiritual before we can experience the answer in the natural.

Giant Killer Have the Confidence of Past Victory Looking at God’s faithfulness in the past gives confidence for the present and future. Looking at God’s faithfulness in the past gives confidence for the present and future.

Giant Killers Have Faith for Both the Present and the Future David’s faith prompted him to pick up five stones from the brook. David’s faith prompted him to pick up five stones from the brook. David won the battle with a song and a prayer. David won the battle with a song and a prayer. Only God could get the credit Only God could get the credit David’s act of courage gave faith and courage to others as well. David’s act of courage gave faith and courage to others as well.

Conclusions David was victorious that day because he fought the right battle. The battle was Spiritual. The victory must be won in the spirit before it can become apparent in the natural. His faith and courage not only saved his life, but won the victory over a giant, and gave others faith and courage to win the battle as well.
