Sheikh Zayed Mosque Abu Dhabi United Arab Emirates

It is third largest mosque in the world, with an area of 22,000 square meters – Built with: 33,000 tons of steel 120,000 cubic meters of concrete 7,000 foundation piles

The domes and interior decoration are made of white marble.

There are seven chandeliers made of gold-plated copper, imported from Germany. The Mosque also has the largest chandelier in the world: 10 meters in diameter and 15 meters high.

The world's largest carpet, made by Iran's Carpet Company, measures 5,627 square meters, and was made by about 1,200 weavers, 20 technicians, and 30 workers. The weight of this carpet is 47 tons: 35 tons of wool, and 12 tons of cotton. There are 2,268,000 knots in the carpet.

The Mosque is large enough to accommodate 40,000 worshippers.

There are tours for both Muslims and non-Muslims since March 2008 in order to promote cultural and religious understanding.
