Let the Rivers flow We're coming to the edge, Running on the water, Coming through the fog, Your sons and daughters. Let the river run, Let all the dreamers Wake the nation. Come, the New Jerusalem.

Let the Rivers flow Silver cities rise, The morning lights The streets that meet them, And sirens call them on With a song. It's asking for the taking. Trembling, shaking. Oh, my heart is aching.

Let the Rivers flow We're coming to the edge, Running on the water, Coming through the fog, Your sons and daughters. We the great and small Stand on a star And blaze a trail of desire Through the dark'ning dawn.

It's asking for the taking. Trembling, shaking. Oh, my heart is aching. We're coming to the edge, Running on the water, Coming through the fog, Your sons and daughters. Let the river run, Let all the dreamers Wake the nation. Come, the New Jerusalem. Silver cities rise, The morning lights The streets that meet them, And sirens call them on With a song. It's asking for the taking. Trembling, shaking. Oh, my heart is aching.

Introduction to our Mass Today we gather as Bakhita House, here in the Savannah Suite to celebrate the past year. Our theme is ‘Life flows like a river ‘ based on our response to the Head’s challenge. We were all involved in the creation of this piece on the river of life with the reeds representing what we go through to arrive at the correct path. We were all involved in the creation of this piece which reminds us that life is like a river. Mostly we go with the flow navigating obstacles en route sometimes we get caught up in the reeds and have to negotiate our way out and re- join the run of the river.

The chickens represent our Team Bakhita ; we are all in it together to reach our final destination ensuring we look out for each other.

In preparation for our Mass we have all worked on different stages of a river’s development which we will attach to the main river over the course of the Mass. The river will then take pride of place on our noticeboard. All we need to celebrate Mass will appear on the screen(s) in front of us. The priest will say the words in white and we shall reply with the words in green.

Lord let us find the source of knowledge By babbling waters he leads me

A poem by Orla Toland New life is a stream, Shallow, fresh and minute. A blank canvas, Innocent and naïve. As life ages the stream begins to develop, Absorbing the nutrients of knowledge. It grows and changes, Streams become rivers.

Life is young river, We are those droplets of water We are slow paced, indecisive, Unsure of our plans. Yet our lives seem to speed up, Too young to be that fast. We bobble side to side, Too close to the reeds.

These reeds capture our lives, They coil with our minds. They latch on to our souls, We fall a victim. The reeds are life’s issue, Our paths become distorted. Problems drag us down, Into the reeds crease. Yet in life we can rise, Climb the barrier of troubles. Fend off the mighty beast of doubt, Detach from those reeds Life is young river, We are those droplets of water We are slow paced, indecisive, Unsure of our plans. Yet our lives seem to speed up, Too young to be that fast. We bobble side to side, Too close to the reeds.

Yet our lives seem to speed up, Too young to be that fast. We bobble side to side, Too close to the reeds. Bakhita’s life had struggles, She was once a lost water drop. But she returned to the centre of the river, Her life was content.

We can balance our lives, Measure the positives. Swim in progression, Conduct our dreams. We can be the life changer, That droplet in the centre of the river. Coated in success, happiness and kindness, We can all have hope.

Down to the river to pray As I went down in the river to pray Studying about that good ol' way And who shall wear the starry crown? Good Lord show me the way! O sisters let's go down Let's go down, come on down O sisters let's go down Down in the river to pray As I went down in the river to pray Studying about that good ol' way And who shall wear the robe & crown? Good Lord show me the way

O brothers let's go down Let's go down, come on down Come on brothers, let's go down Down in the river to pray As I went down in the river to pray Studying about that good ol' way And who shall wear the starry crown? Good Lord show me the way

O fathers let's go down Let's go down, come on down O fathers let's go down Down in the river to pray

As I went down in the river to pray Studying about that good ol' way And who shall wear the starry crown? Good Lord show me the way O sinners, let's go down Let's go down, come on down O sinners, let's go down Down in the river to pray

Let us stand to greet the Gospel Alleluia, alleluia! If anyone loves me he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we shall come to him. Alleluia!

The Lord be with you And with your Spirit A reading from the Holy Gospel according to John Glory to You O Lord

On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’” Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive, or as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified. The Gospel of the Lord Praise to You Lord Jesus Christ

Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for through your goodness we have received the wine we offer you: fruit of the vine and work of human hands, it will become our spiritual drink. Blessed be God for ever.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Deliver us, Lord, we pray from every evil, graciously grant us peace in our days, that by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope, and the coming of our Saviour, Jesus Christ. For the Kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.

The peace of the Lord be with you always. And with your spirit. Let us share the peace with each other

Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us. Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, grant us peace.

Behold the Lamb of God, behold him who takes away the sins of the world. Blessed are those who are called to the supper of the Lamb. Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed.
