Unregistered religious groups are illegal but obtaining registration is very difficult and in some cases impossible. Believers' homes are raided and Christian literature confiscated with Christians arrested and fined. Church leaders are interrogated and physically and mentally harassed by police. New believers face physical abuse from family members to force them to return to Islam. The church is growing and many Christians (who form 5.2% of the population) are sharing the gospel. Open Doors provides Bibles, Christian literature, training and practical support to the persecuted church worldwide. OPEN DOORS UK & IRELAND –2010 UZBEKISTAN

Father, thank you for the many Uzbeki Christians who found Jesus since Uzbekistan gained independence from the Soviet Union. PERSECUTED BELIEVERS IN UZBEKISTAN OPEN DOORS UK & IRELAND 2010

PRAY FOR THOSE WHO HAVE TO LIVE OUT THEIR FAITH IN SECRET OPEN DOORS UK & IRELAND 2010

OPEN DOORS UK & IRELAND –2010 Strengthen those who have to live out their faith in secret. We especially remember Muslim-background believers who face pressure from family and community members to make them renounce their new-found faith. Give them power to persevere in following you.

LET’S PRAY FOR CHRISTIAN LEADERS WHO ARE UNDER PRESSURE OPEN DOORS UK & IRELAND 2010

Be with Christian leaders who have been harassed, arrested, fined or even beaten to try and stop them from serving you. Enable them to stand firm under pressure. OPEN DOORS UK & IRELAND –2010

ASK THAT GOD WOULD PROVIDE CHRISTIANS WITH THE TRAINING AND RESOURCES THEY NEED 3 OPEN DOORS UK & IRELAND 2010

Provide Christians with the training and resources they need to remain faithful and equip them to share the good news of Jesus with their Muslim neighbours. Provide economic support for those starting small businesses for those who have lost their jobs because of their faith. OPEN DOORS UK & IRELAND –2010

PRAY FOR CHANGE IN LEGISLATION WITHIN THE COUNTRY OPEN DOORS UK & IRELAND 2010

We pray also for a change in the legislation that only allows for possession of one bible for each person and prohibits the education of children in the Christian faith and the printing of Christian materials. Raise up people of influence who will champion religious liberty and defend the rights of the oppressed. OPEN DOORS UK & IRELAND –2010

MAY YOUR PEOPLE BE FREE TO WORSHIP YOU IN FREEDOM AND WITHOUT FEAR. AMEN OPEN DOORS UK & IRELAND –2010
