Nkechinyere She was beaten to unconsciousness by her husband after which he attempted to dump her into a well. Reason: She was not having more CHILDREN and she had asked for the refund of her contributions in building their home from which he was evicting her to bring a new wife. WRAPA facilitated her treatment and he was charged to court by the Police. Case is still in court.

This young woman had attempted to commit suicide. She had poured kerosine over herself and set a fire. Reason: She was trying to end the trail of physical and psychological abuse by her husband. WRAPA is currently arranging for counseling and psychological treatment for her. Her father who was never willing to entertain her complaints is also to enjoy the counseling having almost lost his head over the issue.

Ngozi Anakwe was stabbed with broken bottles by neighbourhood boys. Reason: She had declined for too long the advances of one of them. They were charged to court and WRAPA is holding a watching brief in the case.

The young lady was beaten up by state agents. Reason: She had allegedly trespassed on a prohibited zone. She had pleaded ignorance of the law. Through the intervention of WRAPA the agents were disciplined and some symbolic compensation for her medical costs was made. WRAPA demanded a public notice to be erected to safeguard future occurrences.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE!!!!!! The woman and her 3 children were bathed with acid by her husband’s junior brother. The small baby she was carrying died a few days after. Reason: Her husband had refused to give him a new capital having blown off earlier ones. He was arrested but not much has been heard of his fate. WRAPA made a donation towards the first surgery, other donations were obtained from those contacted to assist.

Amina had her right leg cut off by her husband and father of her 8 children barely two weeks after she delivered a set of twins.
