WEINIG PROFILING 1 WEINIG PROFILING How to produce a structured surface

WEINIG PROFILING 2 WEINIG PROFILING How to produce a structured surface Step 1: form a clear mental image of the structured surface you want.

WEINIG PROFILING 3 WEINIG PROFILING How to produce a structured surface Step 2: transfer the mental image into a... (3D) drawing... or a wooden sample

WEINIG PROFILING 4 WEINIG PROFILING How to produce a structured surface Step 3: produce or purchase a cutterhead with the required profile shape

WEINIG PROFILING 5 WEINIG PROFILING How to produce a structured surface Zeit Step 4: Weinig oscillating spindle technology is used at the required positions to produce the structured surface... Horizontal:Vertical: Any horizontal spindle (except 1st bottom) can be equipped with axial oscillating CNC axes. Radial oscillation only possible on a 2nd top or bottom spindle Any vertical spindle can be equipped with axial oscillating CNC axes. Radial oscillation only possible on a 2nd right or left spindle. Universalspindel: A universal spindle can have axial or radial oscillating CNC axes.

WEINIG PROFILING 6 WEINIG PROFILING Axial oscillation Several parameters work together to make a structured surface Speed: min max Distance:Axial axis: Distance An axial CNC axis is controlled by software to move continuously. The speed of the CNC axis as well as the speed of the feed system are two parameters which work together. A third parameter is the distance that the axis can move e.g. max 40 mm. The software ensures that the movement is random.

WEINIG PROFILING 7 WEINIG PROFILING Structured Surface The result is structured surface A simple structured surface is produced by a single oscillating CNC axis. Each additional pass through the oscillating spindle will create a more complex structure.

WEINIG PROFILING 9 WEINIG PROFILING Radial oscillation Speed: Zeit Radial: A radial CNC axis is controlled by software to move continuously. A third parameter is the distance that the axis can move e.g. max. 1mm.The software ensures that the movement is random The speed of the CNC axis as well as the speed of the feed system are two parameters which work together. min. max. WEINIG PROFILING 12 WEINIG PROFILING Spindle arrangements 9 Spindles: 7 Spindles + Uni: By using multiple spindles it is possible to produce complex surface structures in one work-step. For greater flexibility a universal spindle can be used for structuring from any position. 5 Spindles: For companies with a limited budget the material can be run several times through the machine to achieve the desired structure.

WEINIG PROFILING 13 WEINIG PROFILING Where can this technology be used  Furniture panels and frames  Mouldings  Window and door frames  Playground equipment  Garden furniture  Decking  WPC  Log cabin houses  Cladding or siding  Flooring

WEINIG PROFILING 18 WEINIG PROFILING PowerLine – Structured Surface Procedure for following up an enquiry:  A (3D) drawing or sample of the structured surface is required for evaluation  Ideally the product should be test run at Weinig together with the customer  The customer must evaluate the result together with Weinig experts and if necessary discuss further measures to be taken
