 Common mistakes with usability tests  Test users are unintelligent  Normal users can handle complex tasks  Do not fix usability issues  Ignore test results

 Why can’t the user see the obvious answer to the task  The design is perfect; nothing needs to be changed  Find more intelligent users

 Can users over come?  Yes  Do they want to?  No

 Only 50% of population is online  Most sites have usability issues now  Most sites will not be usable with 80% of the population becomes users

 Usability testing is hard news  Lessons can be learned from all levels of users  Users can not read the designer’s mind
