Malawi PMTCT Training Package Course Goal Build capacity of healthcare workers (HCWs) to offer PMTCT services National PMTCT training package provides basic knowledge to multidisciplinary HCWs for PMTCT programme implementation. Malawi PMTCT Training Package Course Objectives Provide knowledge and skills in HIV and PMTCT services including HIV testing and counselling, ARV prophylaxis, infant feeding. To facilitate the reduction of HIV-related stigma and discrimination by empowering HCWs to partner with community agencies and services. To develop the capability of HCWs to provide comprehensive and appropriate care and support for HIV-infected and affected women and children. Responsibilities of PMTCT Healthcare Workers Provide core PMTCT services such as HIV testing and counselling, ARV prophylaxis/referrals for ARV therapy, infant feeding counselling. Facilitate the reduction of HIV-related stigma and discrimination. Provide comprehensive and appropriate care and support for HIV-infected and affected women and children. Establish community-based linkages among individuals and health facilities, communities, and other agencies for continued care of clients with HIV.
