Especially with his best friends, Duane, Trent, and Jim. He is a great all around ballplayer sometimes, but other times he can’t even make contact with the ball!

Other Characters There are several other characters who play a part in this book. Duane, Syl’s best friend, and the Hooper Comets third baseman. He is a great friend to Syl. Trent and Jim didn’t get along with Syl from the start, but now they are good friends and they hang out all the time. Mr.Teacy and Mr.Baruth are invisible legendary baseball players that only Syl can see.

Setting The story mostly took place at the local baseball field in Hooper. This is where the kids always played for games, practices, and for just having fun.

Entertainment For fun/entertainment, Sylvester, Duane, Jim, and Trent played a four player video game, or a game that they made up called “Hit, pitch, and catch”. In this game, one person pitches the ball, one person is the batter, one person is the fielder, and the other person is the catcher.

Problem  Sylvester’s baseball skills keep going away. He used to always hit Homeruns now he can’t hit or catch the ball. He is struggling in all aspects of the game.

Solution Syl gets help from invisible, legendary baseball players, such as Babe Ruth, Eddie Cicotte, Mickey Mantle, and Ty Cobb. They help him work on hitting, fielding, running, stealing, and sliding. Making him a better all around baseball player.
