Presentation transcript:

In the Quran, in Surah Luqman, Surah no. 31, Allah (SWT) tells us about the advice that Luqman (as) gave his son.

Surah Luqman, Ayah 13: And (remember) when Luqman said to his son when he was advising him:

Surah Luqman, Ayah 13 (cntnd): "O my son! Join not in worship others with Allah. Verily! Joining others in worship with Allah is a great Zulm (wrong) indeed.” In this Ayah, Luqman (as) warns his son never ever to worship or bow his head down in front of anyone except Allah (SWT).

Surah Luqman, Ayah 16 : "O my son! If it be (anything) equal to the weight of a grain of mustard seed, and though it be in a rock, or in the heavens or in the earth, Allah will bring it forth. Verily, Allah is Subtle* (in bringing out that grain), Well Aware (of its place).” In this Ayah, Luqman (as) warns his son about the fact that Allah (SWT) is All Seeing and All Knowing, so no matter how small your deed is, or how secretly it may have been done, Allah (SWT) always Knows about it, and on the Day of Judgment, we will be asked about even the tiniest of acts. *subtle means cleverly able to do anything.

Surah Luqman, Ayah 17: "O my son! Perform Salaat...” In this Ayah, Luqman (as) tells his son to ALWAYS Pray his Namaaz, and NEVER to miss it!

Surah Luqman, Ayah 17 (cntnd): “… Enjoin* (on people) Al-Maruf (Islam and all that is good)...” *Enjoin means to call people towards something. In this Ayah, Luqman (as) tells his son to always invite people to Islam and to do what is good. We can invite people to Islam by being good, and showing them that Islam is a religion that teaches us to be polite and peaceful with everyone. Also, if we're ever doing a good deed, we should always try to make our family members and friends do that good deed with us, so that they get Sawaab too!

“… and forbid (people) from Al Munkar (disbelief in the Oneness of Allâh, and all that is evil and bad)...” In this Ayah, Luqman (as) tells his son to help people stay away from worshiping more than one God. He also advises his son to stop people from doing bad things when he sees them. So if you ever see your family members or friends doing something Haraam, make sure you go to them and politely try to make them stop. Surah Luqman, Ayah 17 (cntnd):

“… and bear with patience whatever befalls you.” In this Ayah, Luqman (as) tells his son that it is very important for him to be patient AT ALL TIMES. Sometimes, bad things happen to us and we can't understand them. But we all know that Allah (SWT) loves us a lot and He would never want anything to happen to us that can hurt us, so we should trust Him. And like we saw in the story of Prophet Ayyub (as), if you are patient, Allah (SWT) will bless and reward you greatly! Surah Luqman, Ayah 17 (cntnd):

“And turn not your face away from men with pride, nor walk in insolence* through the earth...” *insolence means rude and disrespectful. In this Ayah, Luqman (as) tells his son not to be proud with other people. He also tells him not to walk on the Earth with pride, because Allah (SWT) does not like proud and arrogant people AT ALL! It it said that someone who has even a tiny speck of pride in their heart, won't even be allowed to SMELL Jannah! If we want to stop being proud, we must always think that others are better than us, and have done more good deeds than us, and then we will start respecting those people, and stop being proud with them. Surah Luqman, Ayah 18:

“… Verily, Allah likes not any arrogant boaster.” In this Ayah, Luqman (as) gives a very important message to his son. He tells him not to boast to others. If God has blessed you with some blessings, and not others, and you boast about them, you will hurt their feelings! Also, when you do a good deed, it is Shaitaan that comes to you and tells you to tell every one about it, and when you boast / show off about your good deeds, the Sawaab becomes less! So when you want to do something good, try to do it only for Allah, and don't tell anyone about it. Surah Luqman, Ayah 18 cntnd:

“... and lower your voice." In this Ayah, Luqman (as) tells his son to always keep his voice low, and not talk loudly or shout. We must keep this in mind, especially when we are talking to our elders. And if we talk politely to those smaller than us, they will copy us, and Insha Allah will also talk softly all the time. Surah Luqman, Ayah 19:

Now Lets Revise What We've Learnt. Look At The Picture And Think About What Advice That Picture Is Talking About.
