Analyze Ana= “up” or “throughout” Lyze = “loosen” Soooo….. Analyzing means loosening something up, pulling it apart to see individual threads And, our expectations lead us to focus on certain parts as opposed to others.

With your groups: Read the Russell Baker piece Choose a different nursery rhyme or fairy tale to retell from at least 2 different perspectives (for example: fire chief, politician, pacifist, hippie, pop star…whatever.) Write these retellings as a group. You will share this with the class. Make them fun.
