Help, I think I have culture shock! Culture shock isn’t something you can prevent, but you can overcome it and feel better! Some things to try: Join the Students’ Union Make a Newcastle “bucket list” Make an effort to spend time with your flatmates Help share your heritage with others Remember: no one expects you to be perfect! We all make mistakes, and it helps to laugh about it. Make connections with local people and local places
