Town of Plattsburgh Cumberland Head Sewer District LAND USE

Town of Plattsburgh Cumberland Head Sewer District COLLECTION SYSTEMS GRAVITY: -Traditional Sloped Pipes & Manholes -Pump Stations will be Required LOW PRESSURE SEWERS (LPS): -Individual sewage grinder pumps -Small-Diameter Pressure System

Town of Plattsburgh Cumberland Head Sewer District RECOMMENDED COLLECTION SYSTEM LOW PRESSURE SEWERS Smaller diameter pipe sizes and therefore saves on material and construction costs. LPS force mains need only be installed below the frost line, thus eliminating the need for deep sewers and manholes. LPS reduce or eliminate the need of municipal pumping stations. LPS piping is adaptable to alignment changes necessitated by existing utilities and changes in elevation. LPS systems receive essentially no infiltration or inflow.
