Absorber Stripper Makeup absorbent Recycle absorbent Entering vapor Stripping vapor 1. Absorbent recovery with stripping vapor In that case the absorbent to recycle enters a stripping column where it takes contact with the so-called stripping vapor. This can be a steam or any inert gas, on the right conditions to eliminate (strip) the pollutant from the absorbent. Once the absorbent is clean can be recycled to the absorption column.

Absorber Reboiled Stripper Makeup absorbent Recycle absorbent Entering vapor 2. Absorbent recovery using a reboiler stripper In that second case the absorbent to recycle enters a reboiled stripping column. In that case the stripping vapor is a vapor of the solvent itself used to heat the polluted solvent stream. Part of the recovered solvent is continuously recycled to the absorber.

Distillation Makeup absorbent Recycle absorbent Entering vapor 3. Absorbent recovery with a distillation column Absorber Finally, a distillation column can be used. The pollutes absorbent is drawn to the distillation column. In the bottoms the solvent is collected and sent to the absorber.
