Showrooming  Showrooming is described as being the act of appraising merchandise from a retail store and then shopping online to find the same merchandise for a lower price.  Showrooming is on the rise and while it may be detrimental to the retail stores it is especially helpful to consumers looking for a better and cheaper price, including myself.

How I Learn  I have a mixed style of learning. Depending on what is being taught I like to learn through visual, verbal, and/or a social style. For example:  Computer Course- Visual and Social  Psychology Course- Verbal and Visual

Digital Wildfires  “Digital Wildfire” refers to the digital world and it is the phenomenon of information traveling with extraordinary speed and reach  Information spreading can be either intentional, unintentional, misleading, or even provocative and can lead to dire consequences and false information  To try and stop this digital wildfire many jurisdictions already have laws that limit freedom of speech but this interferes with the first amendment. Furthermore, it could lead to more government censorship of the Internet which will not be quietly accepted

MOOC: Massive Open Online Courses  MOOC is a type of online courses aimed to large-scale participation that offer open access through the web  MOOC’s typically do not offer awarded credits like college, However, assessment of learning may be done for certification  Two Main Components:  Open Access  Scalability

Innovation  The development of new customers value through solutions that meet new needs, inarticulate needs, or old customer and market needs in value.  Innovation is accomplished through more effective products, processes, services, technologies, or ideas that are readily available to markets, governments, and society.

Intellectual Property  Commonly known as IP  IP is a legal concept that refers to creations of the mind in which exclusive rights are recognized.  Types of intellectual property rights include copyright, trademarks, patents, industrial design rights and in some jurisdictions trade secrets.

Copyright  Copyright is a legal concept enacted by most governments. It gives the creator of an original piece of work exclusive rights to it, usually for a limited time.  Usually, it is "the right to copy", but it also includes giving the copyright holder the right to be credited for the work, to determine who may adapt the work to other forms, who may perform the work, who may financially benefit from it, and other related rights.

Open Source Software  Commonly referred to as OSS  OSS is a computer software with a source code made available and licensed with an open source license.  The copyright holder provides the rights to study, change and distribute the software to anyone and for any purpose.  Open source software is often developed in a public and collaborative manner.

Open Source Textbooks  Open Source Textbooks are textbooks licensed under an open copyright license.  These textbooks are made available online to be used by students, teachers and members of the public for free.  Many open textbooks are distributed in other print such as e-books and audio formats that may be downloaded or purchased at little or no cost.

Human Rights  Human rights are described by inalienable fundamental rights in which a person is inherently entitled simply because she or he is a human being.  Human rights are conceived as applicable everywhere and are the same for everyone.  A right that is believed to belong justifiably to every person

Jquery Mobile  The jQuery mobile framework applies the "write less, do more" mantra  The mobile framework is designed to simplify and enhance the development of mobile web applications.  The framework enhances the development by integrating HTML5, CSS3, jQuery and jQuery

Internet Governance  Internet Governance is the development and application of shared principle, norms, and decision- making procedures  There are controversies occurring about how the Internet should or should not be governed in the future; these controversies will always be present no matter what is or isn’t being governed

Google Application  The Google Application is a service from Google providing independently customizable versions of several Google products under a custom domain name.  The application features several Web applications with similar functionality to traditional office suites

Geolocation  Geolocation refers to the practice of assessing the location, or to an actual assessed location  Geolocation is described as being the identification of the real-world geographic location of an object

Net Neutrality  Net Neutrality, also known as network neutrality or internet neutrality, is the principle that Internet service providers and the government should treat all the data on the Internet equally  Providers and the government should not discriminate or charge differentially by user, content, site, platform, application, type of attached equipment, or modes of communication

Spam  Spam is the use of electronic messaging systems to send unsolicited bulk messages, especially advertising, indiscriminately.  While the most widely recognized form of spam is spam, the term is applied to similar abuses in other media.

Office Live  Microsoft Office Live is a discontinued web-based service providing document sharing and website creation tools for consumers, small businesses and even personal .

Security  Internet security is a branch of computer security specifically related to the Internet.  Security often involves browser security but also network security on a more general level

Standardization  Standardization is the process of developing and implementing technical standards.  The goals for correct standardization can be to help with the independence of single suppliers

Zillow  Zillow is an online real estate database that was founded in 2005 by Rich Barton and Lloyd Frink  Zillow has data on 100 million homes across the United States.  In addition to giving value estimates of homes, it offers several features including value changes of each home in a given time frame, aerial views of homes, and prices of comparable homes in the area.

Privacy  Privacy is the right or mandate of personal privacy concerning the storing, repurposing, providing to third-parties, and displaying of information pertaining to oneself via the Internet.  Privacy can entail either Personally Identifying Information (PII) or non-PII information such as a site visitor's behavior on a website. PII refers to any information that can be used to identify an individual.

IPhone 5S?  The IPhone 5S would be the next Iphone to come into market for the MAC industry.  The iPhone 5S could be delayed until after June however because of problems with a new fingerprint-scanning feature designed by Apple. The design will replace the passcode-based unlocking system on previous models.

Instagrok  Instagrok is an online database that gathers information on any topic one needs.  There Mission Statement: Our mission is to help everyone discover the joy of learning and empower them to be lifelong learners. Essay-Grading Software  This software was created by EdX, the nonprofit enterprise founded by Harvard and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology  The software introduced a system that will automatically grade essays and give you back a grade instantly and give you the option to fix your work.  It will make its automated software available free on the Web to any institution that wants to use it.  The software uses artificial intelligence to grade student essays and short written answers, freeing professors for other tasks.

Ushahidi  Ushahidi is an open source project  With this project it will ultimately allow users to crowd source crisis information to be sent via mobile.
