2. Stakeholders’ Meetings in Okayama UNESCO World Conference on ESD will take place in Nagoya, Aichi and Stakeholder Meetings in Okayama City in autumn UNESCO and Japanese government will organize a set of stakeholder meetings in Okayama City to review the efforts made during the “UNESCO Decade of ESD. Also follow-on conferences will be held to discuss the importance of ESD after 2014 and provide input and recommendations to the High-Level Segment Conferences and the Plenary, which will be held in Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture. Following 4 Conferences and ESD Week Opening Ceremony will take place in Okayama. International Forum on UNESCO ASPnet Schools The 9 th Global RCE Conference Kominkan-CLC International Conference on ESD Youth Conference Stakeholder Meetings 7

International Forum on UNESCO ASPnet Schools The forum will share the results of ESD activities carried out in UNESCO ASPnet around the world and discuss the post-2014 perspectives of ASPnet for ESD. A declaration made by the participants will be sent to the World Conference ASPnet high school students and teachers, who are engaged in ESD activities all over the world share their experiences of ESD and discuss ways to make a better future together. The Student’ Forum will be planned and operated by high school students themselves. High school students from 34 countries will come to participate. -Students’ Forum -Teachers’ Forum -Conferences on UNESCO ASPnet Term: 6 th – 8 th November 8

Kominkan-CLC International Conference on ESD Participants from Kominkans of Japan and CLCs in Asia-Pacific region will discuss the achievements of ESD to date and their visions for future developments after Participants will share good practices of ESD implementation based on Kominkan-CLC and discuss its achievements and challenges to recognize the role of Kominkan-CLC for ESD promotion. *CLC: Community Learning Center *Kominkan: Community Leaning Center in Japan Term: 9 th – 12 th October 9

Youth Conference Young people implementing ESD from around the world will come together to share and learn each other’s experiences and ideas as well as elaborate suggestions regarding post-2014 ESD actions, which they will share at the World conference Practitioners of ESD from all over the world, aged years, will share their knowledge and experiences in discussions about the promotion of ESD after Term: 7 th November 10

The 9 th Global RCE Conference This meeting of the global network of Regional Centres of Expertise on ESD (RCE) coordinated by UNU-IAS will discuss and showcase using education as a transformative tool to create a better and more sustainable society. Participants from 120* RCEs will discuss their efforts to promote activities of ESD and make a commitment to strengthening them beyond the end of Decade. * As of October 2013 Term: 4 th – 7 th November 11
