The words of Fr. Alberione The effectiveness of the Word depends in large part on the holiness of the one who preaches or diffuses it. You, who are consecrated to God, have a special obligation to become holy. And immediately after that is your obligation to the Word: you must take it to others with innocent hands and a pure heart, like those who have no desire for useless things. You must be like that: you must seek God alone. (CVV, 273).

The Word of God We constantly give thanks to God for this: that when you received the word of God that you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word but as what it really is, God’s word, which is also at work in you believers. (1 Th. 2:13) If I proclaim the gospel, this gives me no ground for boasting, for an obligation is laid on me, and woe to me if I do not proclaim the gospel! (1 Co. 9:16)

Prayer Jesus Master, you are the Way, the Truth and the Life. Teach us the supremely-eminent wisdom of your love in the spirit of St. Paul the Apostle and the Catholic Church. Send your Holy Spirit to teach and suggest to us what you taught with the approval of your Father. Enlighten our minds to understand and meditate on the holy Scriptures. Help us to follow with docility the examples and precepts you so lovingly gave us. Teach us to pray in a worthy manner, with attention and devotion, using words inspired by the Holy Spirit. Lord, may I know you, love you, live in you and rejoice in you for all eternity.
