Kinds of coordinate measuring machines According to construction: Single-coordinate measuring machines – enable to measure only sizes in one axis Bi-coordinate measuring machines – enable to measure sizes in two perpendicular axis to each other – in one level 3-coordinate measuring machines – enable to measure sizes in 3 perpendicular axis to each other – in space
3-coordinate measuring machines, their arrangement Main measuring device is 3-coordinate measuring machine (CMM – Coordinate Measuring Machine). Measuring machine is characterised by 3 perpendicular axis to each other, called x, y and z. It is the system of: Right-angled coordinates (3-lenght coordinate), cylinder coordinates (2 right-angled coordinates and one rotary axis)
Coordinate machine consists of these components: Measuring machine (main machine unit, measuring bench(table), movable device, measuring and reading system Computer for measuring process control and for result evaluation Peripheral machine for data input and output
