Penguins By Jordan Day

Did you know that a penguin’s body is shaped like a submarine Did you know that a penguin’s body is shaped like a submarine? Their bodies are shaped like this because it helps them swim through tough water with ease. How fast can you swim?

A penguin’s most dangerous predator is a leopard seal A penguin’s most dangerous predator is a leopard seal. A penguin gets away from a leopard seal by using its strong webbed feet and wings to swim away fast.

Penguins have four layers of insulation made up of, feathers, air, skin, and a very thick layer of fat called blubber which helps them stay warm in cold winter days and in icy water. Made up of

A penguin’s feathers are coated with oil which keeps it waterproof so it doesn’t get soaked while swimming.

Unlike flying birds, who have hollow bones, penguins have thick solid bones which make them heavy so they can swim and dive more easily.

Did you know that there are more than 100,000,000 penguins in the world?!

Did you know that penguins don’t always live in cold places?
