Plasma Space Duck By Caroline Kazee

Cupquake, the Plasma Space Duck supersonic eyesight extra pair of for spotting Nostrils for space enemies giant wings for flight camouflage

Mount Dold, Underground, and Rainforest Mount Dold is cold and wet. It rains all day, all night. Underground is hot and dry. It never rains there. Rainforest is hot and wet. It rains a lot.

Protection in Weather My duck will protect itself with waterproof feathers and skin, the ability to suck in and grow feathers at whatever speed she wants to, and the ability to change colors for camouflage.

Body Coverings  What type of body covering or coverings will your bird have? Why?   a. covering #1:  She will have lots of feathers.  purpose:  She needs to keep warm on Mount Dold.  b. covering #2  She will have rough skin.  purpose:  So she doesn’t get uncomfortable trying to find water on Underground.  c. covering #3:  She has a small fur layer.  purpose:  In case it’s extra cold on Mount Dold.

Movement Adaptations My duck will have large, strong wings for flight and stunning animal enemies. She will also have extra padding on her feet for swift swimming and protection from the poisonous plants on Rainforest.

Eye Type My bird will have very large eyes, which give her supersonic eyesight, special for spotting predators, water, food, and prey.

Food and Beak My space duck will eat fish, insects, rats, nuts, and berries. She will have a clothes pin like beak with teeth sharper than a thousand daggers.

Water Collection Adaptations My bird will have a straw-like tounge to drink water through. It will be body temperature-controlled so her tounge will not get hot or cold.

Shelter Location She finds shelter in sand dunes, mountain peaks, and tall trees.

Blending In My duck will use camouflage like a chamelean. She will be able to change colors immediately.

Protection from Predators A nocturnal hunting cat would harm my duck, as will a carnivorous snake. She will use camouflage to protect herself.

I’m Unique! My duck has an extra pair of lungs and nostrils special for breathing in space.

The Healing Flower

center releases single seed into wind before death gummy petals so hard to chew and multicolored petals contain release antidote antidote like medicine to cure poison gummy leaves so hard to chew holes in leaves for water collection small strong roots so is hard to eat

Things about me…  What components will your plant have? Why?   a. Stem #1:  It will have a stem that is thin but strong.  purpose:  Even though it is a healing plant, it needs protection from predators. That protection makes it hard to tear out of the ground.  b. Flower #2 The flower will have medecine-like juices.  purpose: These juices are the only cure to Rainforest’s poisonous plants.  c. Leaves #3:  The leaves are gummy, tough, and hard to chew.  purpose:  The predators will have a hard time digesting it.  d. Roots #4:  The roots are very thin, but extremely strong.  purpose:  The plant must be in the ground to grow, so the roots cling to the soil.

In Summary… The plant will need strong roots so it will be hard to pull out of the ground. The stem takes the sunlight and water the plant has collected and transforms them into sugar that can cure the strongest poisons. It will have small roots so it doesn’t collect too much rainforest water, and tiny holes in the leaves. Any animal that gets poisoned will try to eat it. My plant will be able to camouflage itself.
