What is the relationship between the processes of photosynthesis and cellular respiration? Press the right arrow to start and it will run automatically

In water, CO 2 dissolves to form a weak acid. As a result, an acid-base indicator such as bromothymol blue can be used to indicate the presence of CO 2. In this virtual, laboratory investigation, you will use bromothymol blue to explore the relationship between photosynthesis and respiration.

The Experiment...

100ml of bromothymol blue solution is placed into two containers A B

A drinking straw is inserted into solution and someone gently exhales through the straw. A B They continue exhaling until a change in color occurs.

A sprig of Elodea is placed into each flask A B

One container is placed in the dark A

One container is placed in the light B

After 24 hours...

These are the results... A B (dark) (light) Click here to run through it all again

Complete all questions on the handout...
