It was jealousy that caused Cain to murder his brother Abel It was jealousy of the brothers of Joseph that worked to eliminate him. It was jealousy of the elder brother that would not rejoice at the return of the younger prodigal brother. Green with Jealously

It was Jealousy of the popularity of Jesus that drove the religious leaders to hand Jesus over to Pilate, and ultimately led to his crucifixion. Again it was jealousy of the popularity gained by the apostles which moved the high priest and his colleagues to have them arrested and imprisoned. Green with Jealously

C. What is the remedy for jealousy? 1. Be willing to suffer on behalf of another Christ is the best Model for us. Christ is the best Model for us. 1 Peter 3:17-18a “For it is better, if it is God’s will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil. 18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous….”1 Peter 3:17-18a “For it is better, if it is God’s will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil. 18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous….” Green with Jealously

Genesis 44:32-34 “Your servant guaranteed the boy's safety to my father. I said, `If I do not bring him back to you, I will bear the blame before you, my father, all my life!' Take every negative thought captive (2 Cor. 10:5) Meditate on Jesus: {Jesus suffered for us, the just for the unjust} Operate in the opposite spirit of compassion & kindness Green with Jealously
