The matter of giving and receiving (Philippians 4.15) The relief of poverty was very important to Paul. In Galatians 2 he says “All they (the church leaders) asked was that we should continue to remember the poor – the very thing I was eager to do.”

Giving.... an affair of the heart Jesus said “Where your treasure is there will your heart be also.” despite severe trials the Philippians first gave themselves to the Lord..... then desired the privilege of sharing in service to the saints.

“It is more blessed to give than to receive”....an attitude of grace Paul’s farewell to Ephesian elders at Miletus (Acts 20.35) “We must help the weak” Giving

the washing and anointing of Jesus’ feet with costly ointment (Luke )....an act of love compassion, generosity, above all love Giving
