Presentation transcript:

Will your team be victorious? Will your team survive? Do you have what it takes?

The class will be divided into five teams. Each team will be given a variety of “targets” at other tables in the room and will earn points based on the difficulty level. Each team will have time to practice with a variety of remote controlled helicopters.

Shoot missiles to knock out enemy targets!

Shoot discs at enemy targets!

Use the mechanical crane to rescue P.O.W.s or capture targets.

Drop a bomb that releases spring-loaded missiles or a sticky bomb!

Drop into the enemy zone and shoot or run over enemy targets!

Small with no weapons – but possibly the easiest to fly into enemy territory AND has the longest flight time.

Use the Battletracker to defend your base!

Drop Zone: – drop wheels on the enemy? – Land in enemy territory and run them over? – Shoot missiles? Havok Striker: – Fly into enemy territory and knock over targets? Mega Bomb: – Fly over enemy territory and drop a sticky bomb? – Fly over enemy territory and drop a missile bomb?

Fly Crane: – Hover over enemy territory and capture soldiers. – Hover over enemy territory and capture a bomb! Sawblade: – Shoot discs at targets. Sharpshooter: – Shoot missiles at targets.

The Rules: Because the helicopters only have two different radio frequencies, only two copters can be in the air at the same time. When it is your team’s turn, the team chooses one of the available (fully charged) helicopters. Teams have 5 minutes to fly to any enemy’s base and score as many points as possible before either time or their battery runs out, whichever comes first.

10 points – for each base you land on, including your own. 20 points – for each target knocked over! 50 points – knock a soldier or target over with a missile, disk, or bomb! 100 points – kidnap an enemy soldier or enemy general. 150 points – rescue a P.O.W.! 200 points – capture an enemy bomb!

How is this graded? The RC Battle is worth 200 points. You can score 200 points right away by stealing an enemy’s bomb! Score 200 points and you and your team get an A+. Score 70 points and you and your team gets a C- We will battle for several days – giving you several chances to earn points!

HELICOPTER MAINTENANCE Air Hogs Helicopters are delicate; please be careful with them. We can’t have RC WARS with broken helicopters. Helicopters will fly about 4-5 minutes before their charge runs out. The batteries in each helicopter must cool down before re-charging for about 10 minutes and re- charging takes about 10 minutes; this is why only one flight a day is possible for each helicopter.
