Terminating Decimals Terminating means “end” A decimal that does not continue is a terminating decimal
Repeating Decimal Also called “Recurring Decimal” The decimal occurs for infinity!! Decimals in which a digit or a sequence of digit repeats. Examples:
*Important Information* Sometimes a repeating decimal is shown to be repeating with putting a bar above the digits or set of digits that repeat Examples or or 0.45 This can also be called a Vinculum!
Summary Terminating decimals are decimals that end when fractions are converted to decimals. Repeating decimals are decimals where the digit or digits repeat for infinity.
