FTMSA Established in 1968, the Authority’s sanitary sewer conveyance and collection system consists of approximately miles of sewer lines, 5 sewage regulators, 7 pump stations, and miles of collector in the Municipality of Murrysville. The Authority is also responsible for the maintenance of 23.1 miles of collector sewer in Delmont, 3.4 miles of collector sewer in Monroeville, 23.5 miles of collector sewer and 3 pump stations in Penn Twp., 19.0 miles of collector sewer and 3 pump stations in Salem Twp., and 5 miles of collector sewers in Export Borough.

FTMSA The Authority’s treatment facility on Meadowbrook Road is an aerobic biological treatment facility with grit removal, primary clarification, trickling filters, secondary clarification, nitrification towers, shallow bed sand filtration units, ultraviolet disinfection, sludge thickening, anaerobic biological sludge stabilization, sludge dewatering, and methane gas utilization facilities. The permitted hydraulic capacity of the facility is 4.90 million gallons per day and daily operations average approximately 3.41 million gallons.
