s= 𝑥 2 ( 𝑥 2 +𝐸 2 +2𝑥𝐸− 𝑥 2 )/𝐸 = 𝑥 2 𝐸+2𝑥 When 𝐸→0, then S = 𝑥 2 Example s= 𝑥 2 ( 𝑥 2 +𝐸 2 +2𝑥𝐸− 𝑥 2 )/𝐸 = 𝑥 2 𝐸+2𝑥 When 𝐸→0, then S = 𝑥 2

Example Gradient of the tangent = 𝑓(𝑥) 𝑠 = 𝑥 2 𝑥/2 = 2𝑥 At point (2,4), Gradient of the tangent = 2 x 2 = 4

Example Let y = 4x+c be the equation of the tangent at point (2,4) By substituting (2,4) in the equation, 4=4 (2) + C C = -4

Example Therefore, the equation of the tangent is Y = 4 x -4
