TESTING To do testing with single Node Element NE Back to Back connection Laptop1/meter1 Port1 port2 Eth port1 Laptop2/meter2 Eth port2 Make the setup as : 1.Goto switch  switch configuration  make Tag mode configuration as Q-in-Q switching 2.Goto ports  Eth port1  edit switching parameter  port vlan id  give 100 and submit 3.Do the same for Eth port2  port vlan id  give 200 and submit 4. Goto ports  VCG1  edit switching parameters  give PVID 100 and make port type as Customer port. 5. Make the same for VCG2 give the PVID as 200 and make this also as Customer Port. 6. Make the admin status up for Ethernet and VCG ports Make the VLAN tables as below: 1. Goto  VLAN  Provision new VLAN 2. give VLAN Id as 100, include the Eth1 and VCG1 port and submit 3. make another VLAN table, give VLAN id as 200, include the Eth2 and VCG2 port and submit 4. goto Configuration  Facility  VCG  goto VCG1 and add the VC/VC’s of optical port 1 5. goto VCG2 and add the VC/VC’s of optcal port 2 To test : 1.If you are connected Laptop/PC, then keep both Laptop ip’s in same subnet (ex: Laptop 1: and Laptop 2: ) 2. Ping both the Laptop from one another.

Goto switch  switch configuration  make Tag mode configuration as Q-in-Q switching 2. Goto ports  Eth port1  edit switching parameter  port vlan id  give 100 and submit 3. Goto ports  VCG1  edit switching parameters  acceptable frame types  admit all 4. Make the admin status up for Ethernet and VCG ports Make the VLAN tables as below 1. Goto  VLAN  Provision new VLAN 2. Give VLAN Id as 100, include the Eth1 and VCG1 port and submit 3. Goto Configuration  Facility  VCG  goto VCG1 and add the VC/VC’s of optical port NE-B: 1. If you are connected Laptop/PC, then keep both Laptop ip’s in same subnet (ex: Laptop 1: and Laptop 2: ) 2. Ping both the Laptop from one another. You can do the test by connecting meter also. In a ring setup: Requirement: Four NE’s in ring (A,B,C,D), From A node 4 traffic from 4 different Eth port has to drop in remaining three nodes using single VCG AB C Eth ports MSSP ring Optical port D Eth port P1 P2 E1 E2 E3 From Eth ports E1,E2,E3,E4 of NE-A all the traffic will be added, the E1 Traffic has to be drop in Eth port of NE-B, the same way E2 to be in NE-C & E3 to be in NE-D. All the traffic has to be through a single VCG. Setup: NE-A: Create three VLAN tables by id’s 100,200,300, by adding the Appropriate Eth & VCG ports as below VLAN 100A—BE1+VCG 1( Add vc/vc’s of P1) VLAN 200A—CE2+VCG 1( Add vc/vc’s of P1) VLAN 300A—DE3+VCG 1( Add vc/vc’s of P1) NE-B: VLAN 100A—BE1+VCG 1(Add vc/vc’s of P2) VLAN 200A—CVCG 1(Add vc/vc’s of P2)+VCG2(add vc/vc’s of P1) VLAN 300A—DVCG 1(Add vc/vc’s of P2)+VCG2(add vc/vc’s of P1) Note: Add the appropriate VLAN tags to Eth ports in all NE’s Ex: in A, add 100 for E1,200 to E2,300 E3, in the same way in B 100 to E1, C 200 to E1 & D 300 to E1 E1
