BACKGROUND TO GOURITZ CATCHMENT Situated along the south coast and inland Karoo regions of the Western Cape with a surface area ± km 2 Comprises largely dry inland Great Karoo + Little Karoo with humid coastal belt Primary drainage regions J, K1-7, H8-9: 130 quaternary catchments 41% of runoff from the Gouritz River, 46% from the coastal sub-area, 13% from western area
