Identification: form and colour variable

Where to find them Range: indigenous throughout UK but not common. More frequent in mainland Europe. Habitat: found in both upland and flatland regions.

What is known about them? Rare: 20 times less common than soaring blokes – Missing altogether in some areas / habitats Known to fly long distances at high speed Can be more shy than other types May be seen with chicks or fledglings Less frequently seen by hedgerows Otherwise similar habits

Attracting them to your site Develop a suitable habitat If you have soaring birds already, do whatever you need to attract more of them there for longer Remember that their needs are not always the same as other types
