Drill of flight AFMAN 36-2203, Chap 3 pg 24 Steps and Marching Begin on LEFT (except right step & close march) Forward March 24” step from heel to heel Coordinated arm swing Hands cupped, thumbs down Arms straight (not stiff) Swing naturally (6” in front & 3” in back) Halt Take one more 24” step Trailing foot brought smartly alongside front foot Heels together, on line, 45 degree angle Cease arm swing Command for Column Left and Column Right Movements

Individual Instruction AFMAN 36-2203, Chap 3 pg 27-29 Quick / Mark / Double Time Quick Time Mark Time(p26) Double Time(p25) (100-120 beat/min) Command halt can be given on any foot Preparatory command is Mark Time Command of execution is MARCH. Take one more 24” step Bring trailing foot whereby both heels are on line Raise & lower each foot Balls of feet raise 4” execute in quick time only. To halt, on MARCH, raise & lower left foot then right Forward, MARCH, heel of left strikes the ground, Take one more step in place Step off in a 24” step w/left foot Can be executed from halt or quick time Cup hands w/knuckles out, easy run of 180 steps/minute 30” steps (heel to heel) Resume Quick Time, MARCH

Individual Instruction AFMAN 36-2203, Chap 3 pg 27-29 Half / Right (Left) / Change Step Half Step On MARCH, take one more 24” step Followed by 12 “ step (heel to heel) Resume full 24” step on command Forward, MARCH Right (Left) Step On MARCH, raise right leg from hip (enough to clear ground) Leg =straight, not stiff Place right foot 12” to the right & bring left foot smartly to position of attention Continue this movement in quick time until commanded flight, HALT-one more step is taken. Change Step Change, step, MARCH March will be given on right foot Take another 24” step w/left foot Ball of right alongside heel of left Suspend arm swing Shift weight of the body to right foot Step off w/left foot in a 24” step-resume arm swing
