Finding Our Way Q: What were the responsibilities of a kinsman- redeemer? A: T responsibilities of a kinsman redeemer were to marry a woman whose husband had died, and redeem her husbands property, and to keep the name for many generations to come.

Finding Our Way Q: What purposes for Ruth do the beginning and ending of the book reveal? A: Ruth was supposed to help Naomi around and glean wheat in order both of them to survive (beginning). The ending reveals the plan that God had for Ruth and Boaz: To marry and become parents of a child they would call Obed (servant of God).

Finding Our Way Q: Compare the feelings and actions of Naomi in 1:19-22 with her feelings and actions in 4:13-17. A: She felt that God wasn’t giving her what she deserved when she worked very hard. (1:19-22) Naomi was proud of Ruth and the son (Obed) that she can now take care of. (4: 13-17)

Finding Our Way Q: What can be learned from Ruth’s example in 1:14-18? A: It pays to be loyal and God will provide.
