The quickest men in the world but…. Without legs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Athina- Nekataria Moumtzi B’1 gymnasium

Who is………. Who is………. His name is Oskar Pistorious !!! He was born in 1986 in South Africa. When he was born the doctors had see that he was having a problem with his legs!!! So when he became one year old they cut them!! He loved all sports so he started to play tennis, polo and rugby!!!!!! When he became 17he started to run!!!!

The mental …. He ran in the Paralympics in 2004 in in Greece. He won a bronze metal in 100m and 5this is the world record !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He has a lot of world records like in 100m,200m and in 400m!!! In 2007 he took part in international games with men that they haven’t any physical problems!! The striking thing is that he did impressive times!!! But the problems had only just began….

The problems… The problems… Soon,however they began to hear that, with these foots he has a comparative advangte over normal humans because they have longer length and thus he can run much better than them !!!!!

Oscar had asked International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) to take part officially in competitions with able-bodied athletes. But the answer was no ! He didn’t give up and he appealed to the International Court of Sports (CAS) in Lausanne, where he was vindicated for his persistence. Thus, since May 16, 2008 Oscar Pistorious could claim the qualifying for the Olympic Games in Beijing, while the president of the IAAF now stated:

WHAT HE SAID …… The IAAF accepts the decision of CAS to welcome Oscar. He is a man who has inspired many people and we expect in the future to admire his accomplishments. The president of IAAF
