AIMS AND OBJECTIVES a) To promote education for peace and fostering positive values, behaviors and attitudes to build a culture of peace for National Development b) To stimulate institutional linkages between national and international partners and building a participatory process for sustainable peace and development. c) To conduct strategic policy oriented research into mechanisms that promote social cohesions for integration of peace building in the policy planning processes for sustainable peace and National Development.

An affiliate of A Ray of Hope UNESCO Youth Ambassador for the Culture of Peace

A Ray of Hope Formed in 1996, as a Peace Choir of 10 teachers and 60 children. Its now a non- profit making international NGO, appointed by and reporting to the Director- General of UNESCO. It promotes friendship worldwide and offers constructive support to friends. It has a membership of approximately 160,000 people who are giving or receiving care under programmes in more than 55 countries.

INTERNATIONAL PARTNERS Arms Reduction Coalition (ARC) Concerned by the obstacles, threats and difficulties that the large amounts of arms in circulation pose to the maintenance of peace and security and to Non-Governmental Organisations and UN departments in carrying out their work; Concerned by the disproportionately large amount of the world's human and economic resources being expended on arms; Recalling Article 26 of the United Nations (UN) Charter which calls for "the least diversion for Armaments of the world's human and economic resources";

LOCAL PARTNERS HNSDA (HOIMA NURSERY SCHOOL DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION) An association of over 100 pre primary schools in 30 districts working towards achieving sustainable development initiatives in this sector. TUKOLE PEACE INITIATIVES Supporting disadvantaged children like orphans and those in squalid conditions in school and working to reduce gaps in female access to education. SUNRISE CHILDRENS VILLAGES Uplifting the standards of the disadvantaged children and youth of Uganda. Those living on streets, IDPs, orphaned by HIV/AIDS and those born in families under abject poverty

Projects Newsletter A Peace Voice of the Youth in schools where they share and exchange views about conflict and peace building in their schools and communities. It links Youth of diverse cultural backgrounds especially from peace clubs across the country. PEACE CLUBS in schools in Hoima, Masindi and Kibaale districts with efforts to open others in North of country and link them to those in the south.
