A national arts recognition program, providing an excellent opportunity for students of all ages to: Unleash their creative talents while being inspired by a specific theme Express themselves creatively Use critical thinking skills to create art inspired by the theme Receive positive recognition for their original works of art

How does my child participate? Reflect on the theme “The world would be a better place if..” Choose a category Dance Choreography, Film Production Music Composition, Literature Photography, and Visual Arts * Students may enter in more than one category*

CREATE something based on the theme “The world would be a better place if..” Video yourself performing a Dance Routine Create a Film and submit a copy Compose and record a piece of Music Write a literary piece Photography: Take a picture! Visual Arts: Paint, Draw, Color, create a collage!. * Students may enter as many times as they would like, in as many categories as they would like!*

To allow student’s artwork to be recognized and judged with the appropriate developmental age and skill levels in mind, the Reflections Program is organized by school grade level Primary – Preschool-Grade 2 Intermediate – Grades 3-5 Special Artist Division This is a non-graded division limited to students whose physical, cognitive or mental health challenges meet the guidelines in the American Disabilities Act. Qualifying students create their own artwork. But, they may receive non- artistic accommodation and assistance from an adult. Students who qualify for the Special Artist Division may choose to enter the traditional grade divisions. If this is the case, students will follow all general and arts category rules, but may submit an entry in the grade division most closely aligned to their cognitive or functional abilities. The student is then recognized and awarded as part of the general student population without regard to special needs or challenges. *Rules and entry forms are found in the office and online at Entries are due Wednesday, November 19 at 9am in the school cafeteria.

Be Recognized! Entries will be judged by category and age division Top 4 entries per category and age division will be awarded gift cards. They will then be forwarded onto the county level for continued judging. Participation prizes awarded to all at the recognition breakfast in the spring! Questions ? Please contact Reflections co-chairs Nicole Moaddel Lucille Brennnan
