WHAT IS SAVING FAITH IN CHRIST?

It is Trust that Jesus CAN Save Us Why can he save us? He is the fulfillment of prophecy Then he said to them, “These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.” Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, (Luke 24:44-45 ESV)

It is Trust that Leads to Obedience Nevertheless, many even of the authorities believed in him, but for fear of the Pharisees they did not confess it, so that they would not be put out of the synagogue; for they loved the glory that comes from man more than the glory that comes from God. (John 12:42-43 ESV) For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead.(James 2:26 ESV)

It is Trust that Leads to Obedience Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him. (John 3:36 ESV) …whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked. (1 John 2:6 ESV)

It is Trust Which Comes from God’s Word Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth. (John 17:17 ESV) “I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me. (John 17:20-21 ESV)

It is Trust Which Comes from God’s Word So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ. (Romans 10:17 ESV) Confidence and trust come from what it SAYS, not from what it doesn’t say

It is Trust Which Comes from God’s Word And we also thank God constantly for this, that when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men but as what it really is, the word of God, which is at work in you believers. (1 Thessalonians 2:13 ESV)

Saving Faith is Only as Good as It’s Object Faith that Jesus can save us Faith that leads to obedience Faith which comes from God’s word Jesus Christ give great assurance. …everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?” (John 11:26 ESV)
