What On Earth Are We Doing In God’s Name For Heavens Sake?! Sizewell Hall Session Three

What does it mean to be ‘missional’  The Church sees itself as being missionaries to a post-Christian world right where we live.  We are sent into our communities as representatives of Jesus  Church is not a place where we go but what we are through the week

Being missional means…  Jesus is active in our culture – we are able to join him in what he is doing  We are in the world and engaging with that culture but not ‘OF IT’  All of this means we are more dependent on Jesus and The Holy Spirit, through prayer, the scriptures and each other.  Being ‘Naturally Supernatural’!!

So, What are we doing… On Earth… In God’s Name… For Heaven's Sake?

More Like JESUS  Constantly exercised to be more like HIM  Absorb God’s word  Meditate– as it fills your thoughts/attitudes  Ask God to continue changing you from one degree of glory to another, day by day.  Allow life's experiences/hard times to change you – for the better!  Jesus Said ‘He who sees Me sees Him who sent Me’ John 12 v 45

The Heart Cry of Humanity  See my Sorrows -  Feel my pain –  Forgive my sin (Psalm 25 v. 18) hear me (listen) be with me in my pain (empathise) I need an answer to guilt and remorse Met in full by Jesus

Loving involves…  Hands in serving Touch  Feet in going Time  Ears in listening Valuing  Hearts in giving Gifts  Mouths in speaking Words

So, be Jesus  To the frightened, the lonely the lost and ‘the sinner’.  Give unconditional love to all that he puts across your path  Hold on to things lightly and people closely  Offer hope Keith Tondeur – Credit Action
