TAKE TIME TO BE HOLY

What is the meaning of holiness? Holiness is a cleanness or purity, a separation or cutting off. To be holy is to be separated, devoted, and pure. God is the definition of true holiness (Is. 5:16; 6:3) –He is pure (Hab. 1:13) –He is good (3 Jn. 11)

God demands that we be holy Lev. 19:2 We must separate ourselves from evil (2 Cor. 7:1; Eph. 4:24; Heb. 12:14) We must also do good (Mt. 5:44,45; Ja. 4:17; Gal. 6:9)

“Take Time” to be holy We only have a limited amount of time (Jn. 4:14) If we are not taking time we need to fear (Ac. 24:25) We must then “redeem the time” (Eph. 5:16) In the end having lived a holy life will have been the most important thing (2 Pet. 3:10,11; Ps. 46:10)

The source of holiness Holiness comes from within (Mt. 15:16-20) Our time should be spent… –In study (Ac. 17:11; 2 Tim. 2:15) –In meditation (Phil. 4:8) –Around good people(1 Cor. 15:33) –In prayer (Col. 4:2; 1 Chr. 16:11)
