GHSA Kickoff Mechanics 2012

C C 8 After a score, H, L, F & S move to the receiving team’s 20 yard line along each sideline. U moves to the 20 along the numbers on the kickers’ side of the field. R moves to the center of the goal line.

C C 8 After arriving at the 20, S times 20 seconds; then signals the crew. Following S’s signal, all officials move to their pre-kick positions.

C C 8 The only officials now on the field are R and U – all others should split the “2 yard belt.”

C C 8 U, F and S Count K.

C C 8 R, H and L Count R.

C C 8 U instructs the kicker; he then counts K and confirms his count with F & S.

C C 8 After the kicker has placed the ball, U moves between Kicker and ball, faces R, extends arm horizontally barring kickers path to ball.

C C 8 When he and kicker are ready U extents other arm straight up signaling R

C C 8 F & S signal to H & L that they are ready.

C C 8 R checks off with H & L, U & ECO; then blows the ball ready-for-play.

C C 8 When the ready-for-play is blown, U releases the kicker to kick the ball.
