Presentation transcript:

FlowNet FlowNet is a Microsoft Windows-based computer-aided engineering program for fluid flow calculations. It automatically configures a simulation flow diagram and sorts out nodes or loop relationship while a user is drawing the diagram with a computer mouse. Flow elements and equipment items can be loaded to a flow segment by dragging from a carrousel and dropping to any flow segment without number limitations. Click any line or flow element to query information. Numerous dialog boxes let user enter/edit inputs and return simulation results.

Few examples of application: Is pump flow evenly distributed to each of the parallel lines leading to the tube pass of the fired heater? Is your cooling water flow limited due to some unexpected resistance? How do you design or rate the relief header system to ensure that relief valves at different location of the same relief system will open to handle your calculated relief loads?

(1) Frictional pressure drop: (2) Pressure rise in the direction of flow due to a dividing flow: where =frictional fractor = length of the flow segment between dividing flows = diameter of the flow segment between dividing flows = density of fluid = velocity of the segment before the dividing flow = velocity of the segment after the dividing flow = an empirical constant
