Microsoft Dynamics® SL Instructor: You may want to edit this slide and add your name. Click Insert → Text Box. Draw the box under the module header. Click in the box to type text “Instructor: Your Name”. Hints and Tips for the Instructor: Introduce yourself and give a little background information to the class. Let the students know why you are qualified to teach this course. Watch out for “repeated” words when you need to pause –for example, saying “basically”, “actually”, or “um” rather than pausing to let students think and catch up. Don’t feel you have to talk non stop to keep their attention. When assigning an exercise, give students sufficient time to complete it before calling a break. Combining a break with time to work on an exercise decreases the importance of the exercise. Hand out evaluation forms at lunchtime so students can work on them throughout the afternoon. They will spend more time on them if they can fill them in a little at a time rather than rushing through to get out the door. At the end of each chapter is a “Key Points” page for the student to fill in. Review the chapter and give them a few minutes to reflect on how they might use the information when they go back to their job. Remember, the rule for presenting information is: Tell them what you are going to tell them (present objectives), tell them (explain and go through examples), then tell them again (review key concepts). Students need to hear the information two or three times before they fully understand some concepts. Even things that seem obvious to you as the instructor.
