How I Learned about God from My parents 6

My father died when he was 59 years old. My mother outlived him for about twenty years. She insisted to live alone in her home.

She refused to live with any of her children. She said: “I am not living alone, God is with me”.

During these twenty years, she used to start her day by reading the Bible and singing. She attended all the Church meetings that she could find transportation to. She was expert in “Crocheting”. She donated all her work to Church fund raising.

Every evening she used to turn on her radio to “Soat El-Ingeel”. This is an Arabic radio broadcast that is transmitted from Mont Carlo, Monaco. The program which is still going on, are hymns, Bible readings and short sermons.

Psalm 119:103 How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!

Jeremiah 15:16 16 When your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart's delight, for I bear your name, O LORD God Almighty.

Her grandchildren knew her connection with God. They used to ask her to lit candles and pray for them before their exams.

Mark 11:24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

She used to say: “I am praying to God that I die and the dust of the ground on my shoes”. God answered her prayers. She died in her sleep without any disease.
