“Daily Toils” By Ms. Killins

“Daily Toils” I ’ m the central character and stagehand, When curtain time arrives, I never know If my own audience will long to go, Or will consider me good, great, or grand. They may quickly boo me off the grand stand; Sometimes, they stare silently at the show. As I struggle to allow them to grow, They are softly shifting like grains of sand. Songs of understanding on some fine days! They all join me to improvise on stage, Clap! It is I who applauds with such glee At all their successes and unique ways: For when they find the meaning of the page I have helped in setting their voices free.
