That morning, you were up early, quietly packing your suitcases, not really paying attention to me, and then, you picked up my leash.

I was SO HAPPY !!! We were going for a walk before leaving on vacation.

We left in the car. You stopped at the side of a country road, opened the door and threw me a stick…

I ran and ran and finally got the stick, but when I came back, you were no longer there.

I panicked … I ran in all directions searching for you everywhere, but it was in vain !

Day by day, I grew weaker as I waited for your return.

One, day a man stopped by the side of the road, gently speaking to me while putting a leash on me. He carried me to his car and laid me softly on the backseat.

He brought me to a strange place where I was put in a cage along with many other dogs. This is where I waited and waited for you… but you never came.

One day, the cage door opened… but it wasn’t you. It was the gentle man that had found me by the side of the road.

He brought me to a small room that smelled of death. He patted my fur and spoke softly to me, while tears ran down his face. My time had come…

Dear master, I just wanted you to know that even though you abandoned me, it was YOUR image I saw, your hand I felt stroking my fur and your voice I heard as I took my last breath.

And if I were able to return to Earth, it would be to you that I would run since I loved you with all my heart & soul.
