School Climate Survey Peterborough schools combined results for selected questions

Survey description The school climate survey results documents were posted by KPRDSB as PDF files on each school’s website (at URL like They started with a common description: Student safety and well-being is our highest priority. As part of our on-going efforts to make our school environment positive and respectful for everyone, we participated in a Board-wide student survey in spring Students in Grades 4-12 at all schools throughout the KPR Board completed the anonymous survey electronically, at school. Since the survey was anonymous and confidential, it did not identify individual students. It was designed to show us how safe, welcome and included all students feel in their own school. Each school in KPR has now received the overall survey results for its students. We will be working closely with staff and our school council to review the results. Our goal is to find out how our students feel about issues such as bullying, harassment and inclusion, and whether they feel we are supporting them in their learning. The next steps will be to identify specific areas of concern. This will allow us to take concrete steps together to ensure our school is safe, respectful, inclusive and caring for ALL students. The overall student climate survey results for our school are available here for all students, staff, parents and community members to see. If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, please feel free to contact the principal or vice-principal. By working together, we can take steps towards ensuring everyone in our school feels respected, accepted and included. This was followed by 7 pages of questions, answers and results:

Survey Data Now available to all at is a single spreadsheet containing all the data. Download or switch to List View to work with it.

Some Analysis In the spring of 2011 a students survey was completed in the FIVE Peterborough high schools to give school staff a definitive sense of their school atmosphere. The results help reinforce what Peterborough Needs PCVS and all the school supporters know - PCVS is a vital part of our education system, it serves a unique role as the downtown school and has an open, welcoming atmosphere that is too valuable to lose. Here are some of the highlights of the survey.
