Independent Energy Consultants, Inc. Natural Gas Storage Inventory Storage Highlights: Working gas in storage was 1,761 Bcf as of Friday, April 14, 2006, according to EIA estimates. This represents a net increase of 47 Bcf from the previous week. Stocks were 425 Bcf higher than last year at this time and 678 Bcf above the 5-year average of 1,083 Bcf. In the East Region, stocks were 373 Bcf above the 5-year average following net injections of 19 Bcf. Stocks in the Producing Region were 248 Bcf above the 5-year average of 399 Bcf after a net injection of 21 Bcf. Stocks in the West Region were 57 Bcf above the 5-year average after a net addition of 7 Bcf. At 1,761 Bcf, total working gas is above the 5-year historical range.
