Scale factor By: Camila Duque 7.2

What is scale factor? The number of times a corresponding side is multiplied from an original shape to another.

Example #1 4 cm 8cm 16 cm How do I figure out the scale factor?

Scale factor = new measurement / original measurement 4 cm 8 cm 16 cm ? 16/8=2 8/4=2 If our both answers are 2 then our scale factor is … 2 and our percent zoom is… Original:100% Other : it is 2x bigger then it is 200%

Example #2 Here will figure out the measurement of a missing side by finding the scale factor. 12 cm ? 24 cm 48

12 cm 24 cm 48 cm 24/12=2 The scale factor is of 2 The original percent is 100% the other percent is 200% 48/2=24
