I Spy! Shapes in our world

Art and shapes Plane shapes are flat and closed – Triangles have 3 sides, 3 angles. Squares and Rectangles have 4 sides, 4 angles. Circles have no sides or angles.

Buildings and shapes Can you find triangles in this picture? What other shapes do you see? Can you find the circles here? Any other shapes?

Shapes and sports Tell me about this picture.

Shapes and food What do you eat that is a triangle? What do you eat that is square? What do you eat that is a rectangle? What do you eat that is a circle?

Your turn! We will take a short walk around the school. When we come back, you will draw a picture of something you saw that uses shapes – triangles, circles, squares, rectangles.
