Reasons for wanting to believe in and have the approval of God Reason 1: Belief in God gives me a purpose and a reason to live. Ecclesiastes 12:13 13 Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.

Reason 2: Belief in God gives hope that I am eternal and death is not the end of me: Job 14:14 14 If a man dies, will he live again?

1 Corinthians 15: If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men. 20 But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21 For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. 22 For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.
